Functional Ware 2024
I studied wheel throwing and hand-building at NSCAD University (2022-2023) whilst completing my VAS certificate program, exploring varying forms, glaze techniques and firings. I love working with my hands, natural materials, and feeling connected to the earth.
My work has explored additive and reductive approaches to create tactile and visual intrigue. Recently I have been enjoying the influence of light and shadow on my pieces both in form and glazing.
These pieces were made with stoneware, three different glazes and several of the tumblers have local beach sand added with glaze.
